Prior roles include Commissioning Editor with Hardie Grant; Senior Editor at Penguin Books; and Editor at Kyle Books (London).

Daniel is a writer, curator, artist and Course Director at Photography Studies College (Melbourne). He is also Director of the Asia-Pacific Photobook Archive - the only not-for-profit organisation that promotes and shares books by local photographers internationally. The Archive’s aim is to encourage the study, production and awareness of photo books in and about the region. Boetker-Smith has organised various photo book events at festivals, galleries, and institutions all over the world, including Photobook Melbourne in 2015. He has also been a judge for the Kassel Photobook Awards in Germany, and a nominator for the Prix Pictet Prize in Europe.

  

Dr Victoria Cooper

Vicki is a photo artist, teacher and independent researcher, and her work is held in national and state Artists’ Book Collections. In 2013 she completed a Doctor of Philosophy at James Cook University focusing on the scientific image and its place in art and cultural narratives, and in 2015 she was awarded a Siganto Foundation Research Fellowship to study montage compositions in artists’ books and zines held in the Australian Library of Art at State Library of Queensland, with the aim of identify the storytelling characteristics and elements on the montage underpinning the visual and textual narratives.

Dr Doug Spowart has been extensively involved in creative media areas for over 40 years — his practice includes: artists books, photobooks, artist, critic, judge, writer and teacher. He has completed a Doctorate of Philosophy at James Cook University researching issues of the contemporary photobook. Spowart’s work, as well as collaborative work with Victoria Cooper has found its way into many private, regional and state public galleries, national and international photography and artists’ book collections

 

Katrin Koenning

Katrin grew up in Germany then completed a Bachelor of Photography at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, where she was also the Editor of the Australian PhotoJournalist Magazine.  Her photography and moving images focus on physical and emotional connection to place and our complex relationship to the everyday. She has exhibited and been awarded internationally, winning the Daylight Photo Award 2015, and publishing her first book, Astres Noirs, to critical acclaim in 2016.

 

Craig Wetjen

Craig is a professional photo artist with 30 years experience. He started as a sports photographer for his local US newspaper before helping establish RMIT University’s first digital imaging course in 1996. His latest project “Men and Their Sheds” highlights the importance of a mans’ shed to his physical and mental well being, and included a book of the same name, that became a best seller for Echo Publishing in 2016. Craig is also a lecturer at PSC Photography Studies College Melbourne.
