ABOUT THIS ISSUE
An insightful collection of conversations that discuss the debris, experimentation, tensions, and complications involved with making work. In the regular run of polished, content-churning press, artists rarely speak about the moments in and around the final realisation of their work. It is these experiences, considerations and ideas that we lay bare in our labour of love and relaunch edition.
An exploration of desire, touch and longing within the Wellcome Collection
A reflection on the roadtrips and compilation of seven newspapers
A solemn and excruciatingly honest discussion about photography’s role in grief and loss
A conversation about works-in-progress, youth culture, and the passage of time
A visceral exploration of cultural dualities through still and moving images

WE PAY ROYALTIES
We are excited to embark on a royalties model for paying both featured artists and our team, which is an approach that reflects our belief in bold experimentation. Our model means all contributors share the financial reward: the more sales we get, the more we all get paid.
Here is the profit breakdown
Featured artists (6% each)
Core team (18% each)
Our vision is to be an invigorating and positive force in our community beyond Issue 31. With some funding in the kitty, we will be able to publish more editions of Unless You Will Journal and progress a few other ideas we have percolating.
Royalties are paid quarterly for 12 months, then all profits go to the Future Fund.
We will donate a percentage of our profits to Victorian Aboriginal Legal Aid and the Two-Spirited People of the First Nations to support the vital work both organisations are doing for Indigenous people in Australia and Canada.

ONE LAST THING
Unless You Will Journal was free for many years. A labour of love it was, sustainable it was not. Love doesn’t pay the rent! By purchasing Issue 31 you are investing in the work of three creative freelancers and acknowledging the work it takes to bring a quality independent publication to the people. You are also backing our mission to authentically support and champion artists beyond the promise of exposure, so kudos to you!
Unless You Will Journal - Issue 31 was created on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Dja Dja Wurrung people in Australia, and the traditional territory of the Haudensaunee and Anishnaabeg in Canada. We wish to acknowledge all groups as the Traditional Owners of the land on which our core team live and work, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
